Are you thinking about consigning to auction either now or in the future? There is no charge for informal consultative visits or verbal opinions of value at The Rago Arts and Auction Center. We have a staff of experts and specialists who will examine your property – either through photographs/descriptions or in person - and render an opinion of value for you. (We do not work with stamps, coins, or firearms.)

You can walk in to the Rago Arts and Auction Center on Mondays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for a free opinion of value. This is best for those who want to meet us in person and have a few items or a few and various items. Written Opinions of Value
We are glad to provide written opinions of value, as well. Informal and non-binding, these are not intended for legal purposes. A $50 fee applies, refundable should you thereafter choose to sell your property through the Auction Center.

By appointment at the Rago Arts and Auction Center: If you'd like to make a special appointment, please call us at 609-397-9374. This is best if you have a number of items that a single expert should see – an assortment of jewelry, for example, art, pottery, Americana, and so forth.

By appointment on site: If you are interested in having us examine an entire estate or if your property is too large or numerous to bring in, let's discuss an on site inspection. Formal Appraisals from the Rago Arts and Auction Center

Formal written appraisals are valid for legal purposes such as insurance valuation, estate tax, damage claims, donation, sale, dissolution of marriage or equitable distribution. An initial conversation with an appraiser concerning formal appraisal is complimentary, as is a written proposal, if required. The standard charge for our appraisers is $250 per hour. Travel time is billed at $125 per hour. Travel expenses, if any, are additional. Authentication fees and G.I.A. certificates are additional charges, agreed upon in advance with the client.
