ALBERT CHEURET (1884 - 1966) Important and rare Cobra console table with mirror, France, ca. 1925; Silvered bronze, marble, mirrored glass; Impressed artist signature; 40" x 47 1/4" x 13 1/2", mirror: 34 1/4" x 46 1/2"; This model was exhibited by Cheuret at the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris. A similar example, sans mirror, from the collection of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé was sold by Christie's, Paris in 2009 (lot 285)..; Provenance: Private collection, New York; Sotheby's New York, June 20, 1986, lot 271; Estate of Lowell Schulman, White Plains, NY. Mr. Schulman was a successful builder and developer, whose projects included the Atlantic Golf Club in Bridgehampton, NY and the Campus Office Parks (also known as "The Platinum Mile") on Route 287 in White Plains and Harrison, NY.
