Sergei Isupov's Beach Beauty and Beach Bum are a playful and surreal pieces in his well-known illustrative style. Both painterly and sculptural, these works are representative of Isupov's complex artistic vocabulary that combines the two- and three-dimensional into a singular narrative. The pair of figures are slab built in the shape of a building or house form, with the trees representing stability. If placed side by side they look longingly towards one another of if reversed away from one another. The female's eyes are red crystals.
