Christopher Walling was encouraged to pursue his artistic passions from a very young age. His father worked for the United Nations and then became an architect, while his mother was a resistance fighter during World War II. Surrounded by philanthropists, artists, and forward thinkers naturally lead Walling on a creative path in life. After Christopher’s birth, his father immediately purchased jewels from a Russian antiquity dealer with which to shower his mother. His mother’s jewelry collection, in turn, greatly inspired Walling throughout his career. Walling opened his own studio in 1973. A lover of pearls and vivid gemstones, his aim is to create whimsical yet bold pieces. His jewelry has adorned celebrities and socialites such as Queen Noor of Jordan, Sao Schlumberger, Elizabeth Taylor, and Jasper Johns.
