Taro Bijutsu (BT)

The Japanese conceptual artist that goes by the moniker “BT” or “Taro Bijutsu” (not his real name) wishes to challenge the notion that art be evaluated by the brand or recognition of the artist. He believes art to be nourishment for the soul and considers the poor and less connected those who need this nourishment most. Through various conceptual frameworks, his “Character Series”, “No Brand Series” and “Art of Error Series” embody an expansive approach that democratizes who the work is for and how it functions.
