Irena Borzena Ustjanowski (1944 - 2002) was an artist and architect who went by simply her initials, IBU. She was an American designer of Ukrainian descent and her pieces display a fine craftsmanship mixed with structural details. The IBU Gallery, located at the Palais Royal gardens in Paris, was created in celebration of her work, while also showcasing other artists whose work harmonizes with IBU’s, such as Antoine Tarot, Kim Chun Hwan, and Athéna U. Poilâne. The present lot bears the French maker’s mark for the Atelier Ehre, who created pieces for houses such as for Van Cleef & Arpels, Sterlé, M. Gérard, and Boivin.
Naturally, my jewelry beautifies a face, a neck, or involves an elegant hand movement.
