In 1948 a copywriter for the diamond company, De Beers, named N.W. Ayer, came up the now iconic slogan “A Diamond Is Forever”. They wanted to instill the sentiment that the humble diamond engagement ring could represent eternal love. The present lot is a new take on the classic line. The “Millennium” ring, inscribed “2000”, with three diamonds as the 0’s, to the inside of the band, represents a love that will least throughout the new millennium.
