Emanuela Burgener, founder of the Margherita Burgener brand, studied and worked in the tourism and hospitality industries before moving to Valenza, a city renowned for its goldsmithing history. It was there that she began working for the Damiani Group—an important Italian jewelry house—and discovered her passion for jewelry design. Burgener took classes in gemmology and jewelry construction and in 2003 created her first piece, naming it after her eldest daughter Margherita.
Burgener’s workshop focuses on unique, handmade jewelry rooted in the traditional craft of goldsmithing. However, they are also trailblazers in their own right and stand out in the jewelry world for their excellence in titanium processing, which has become a driving force behind their more recent creative process. Above all, Burgener is inspired by each individual stone and, in her own words, seeks to “make sure that the jewel responds to the wishes of those who will receive it, telling its story and tastes through the details.”
