The name “Carvin” is an amalgamation of the French founders’ names, André Chervin and Serge Carponcy. The two worked together as bench jewelers at Louis Feron’s NYC workshop in 1954. They struck up an immediate friendship, with respect to one another’s craftsmanship. They each had trained separately under Parisian jewelers and came to the United States seeking the great American dream. They chose to join forces, with immediate success. Their passion and dedication to creating immaculately crafted high-end pieces captured the public’s eye. They grew their atelier in the 20th century, making fine jewels for houses like Verdura, Tiffany & Co., Bulgari, Harry Winston, and many others. Carponcy retired in 1983, while Chervin continues to run the company with his nephew Sylvain Chervin and daughter Chervin.
