Esteemed French art potter Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat (1844–1910) and his wife, Marie, had four sons, Albert, Adolphe, Hippolyte, and Paul, who would all become involved in the ceramics business to varying degrees. Following Pierre-Adrien's death, the sons carried on his tradition of spectacularly glazed ceramics until Adolphe passed away in 1934.
