Carol Summers (1925-2016) was an American printmaker, known for creating simple, decorative, and vibrant landscapes and still-life images by woodcut process. Born in Kingston, NY, he attended Bard College after serving in World War II. Later in his life, he taught in prominent art institutes and colleges such as Hunter College, the Brooklyn Museum School, and Columbia University among others. His dreamy and colorful creations are influenced by his several travels through America, Europe, and Asia. His work is part of the permanent collection of the Brooklyn Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC.
