The present lot was crafted by Janet Silverstein, who studied jewelry making and enamel techniques at Jewelry Arts Inc. She studied under Robert Kulicke, who was a master of granulation and Byzantine enameling. He opened his studio officially in 1974 in New York City, to educate new jewelers on these ancient craftsmanship skills; today the studio is known as Jewelry Arts Inc.
