The delightfully charming, limited edition ‘Shocking Scamp’ perfume bottle in the form of a fencer was designed by Italian jeweler Fulco di Verdura for the Christmas season in 1940. Described by The New Yorker as “a gaga little figure flailing its flexible arms about,” the torso forms a cage which held a small bottle of Shocking perfume. The ‘Shocking Scamp’ was discontinued in 1941 and is a rare, and desirable, find today.
