The story carried with this notebook is that it was given by Edward VII to Frances Evelyn 'Daisy' Greville, née Maynard, Duchess of Warwick in 1905. It is well known that the Prince of Wales and 'Daisy' had an affair lasting 9 years. The notebook was retailed by Streeter, whose store at 18 New Bond Street, served both royalty and London's high society.
