The present work was initially selected and collected by the Victoria & Albert Museum, London for the color of its interior, but was later traded back to the artist for a different work. DeVore found the tone on the interior of this work to be representative of exactly the flesh-like tone he was seeking at the time. The present lot and lot 117 have been companions since their firing.
Titled to underside '678'.
