Barbara Anton (1926 - 2007) was a consummate creator. Born in Pennsylvania, she studied acting and painting at Columbia University before going on to write critically acclaimed plays, thirty-six of which were produced in New York. Her love of jewelry led her to study at The Museum of Modern Art and The Gemological Institute of America; she graduated from the GIA as a gem specialist in 1965 and was one of very few women to do so at the time. Anton made stunningly beautiful, entirely unique jewelry designs that would earn more than twenty international awards, including the highest honors from The Cultured Pearl Associations of America and Japan and the Diamonds International Award.
